  2. 3 Types of activity • Representing interest = Lobbying • Developing common positions • Providing data and expertise • Promoting EUREAU positions • Exchange platform • Best practice in implementation of EU regulations • Best practice in data collection and promoting common approaches • Centralised services for campaigning • Best practice in promoting drinking tap water • Awarnes raising for value of water (prices/cost of W&WW)

Task and Finish Forces (new) • Mandate • Supporting General Secretariat in (lobbying) activities (planning and implementation) • Put in place by SG, limited scope and duration (ca. 6 month) • Working on the basis of adopted position • Composition • 5-9 members (experts of EU1, EU2, EU3) • Chaired by secretary general (or staff member) • Working methods • Kickoff meeting in Brussels • Phone- or videoconferences • Email exchange

Commissions (as befor) • Mandate • Reporting to GA, mandated by GA • Establishing common positions and drafting of position papers or background information (to be adopted by GA) • Permanent updating of EUREAU expertise • Exchange platform for EUREAU members • Composition • 40-50 experts(max. 2 members/country, appointed by EUREAU members) • Chair elected by GA (2 years, renewable) • Secretariat provided by commission chair • Working methods • 2-3 meetings/year, hosted by one of the EUREAU members • Possibility of a common commission meeting once a year • Email exchange • WG and plenary meetings

  7. Scope of Commissions • Commission EU1: Drinking Water • Commission EU2: Water Water • Commission EU3: Management Open question: How to deal with horizontal topics (agriculture, pollutants, climate change)?
