  2. Basics • Every lecture has homework – a journal • You will hand in your journals by group • I do not use Blackboard!!! • Group #’s – see “grade calculator” on my website • Must have >= 70 average on journals & quizzes • Final quiz counts 20% of total grade

Journal Requirements • Two paragraphs • Items of interest to YOU • Items of importance to your career • Bulleted format (like this slide) • Minimum of 3 bullets per paragraph • Max of 5 bullets per paragraph • Max of 10 words per bullet • NO handwritten or late work accepted • Due at START of next class

  4. Journal Example Your last name, your first name Journal # and lecture date • Interesting to you: • Prof. Foreman has inventions • Many companies have 2 growth paths • Managers are often non-technical • Important for your career • Don’t have to just do programming • Many jobs are team efforts • Must be able to write

  5. Quizzes • At least 2 quizzes – may be unannounced • Ordinary quizzes count same as a journal • All quizzes will be T/F and multiple choice • Topics: • Ethics • Major areas of a presentation E.g.; T/F: IBM Lockheed Martin is just military
