  1. Bill White, Retired Intrepid President and CEO of Constellations Group at the Normandy American Cemetery for Official Wreath Laying Ceremony (1888PressRelease) Bill White is currently Chairman and CEO of Constellations Group a NYC strategic relationship development firm whose mission cornerstone is to advocate for causes important to our nation's military, veterans and their families. New York, NY - Bill White, Chairman and CEO of Constellations Group and Retired Intrepid President, recently joined forces with the American Battle Monuments Commission Superintendent, the Honorable Hans Hooker, at the Normandy American Cemetery for an official wreath laying to honor the 9,387 killed in action during the D-Day invasion. Bill White attended the official ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery earlier this month with his life partner, Bryan Eure and Bryan's parents, Donna and Joe Eure from Atlanta. All were deeply honored and humbled to be with the extraordinary patriots who administer the cemetery. The commemorative wreath that was laid by Bill White featured a red white and blue ribbon which Bill had inscribed, "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE AND FOR OUR FREEDOMS. WE OWE YOU OUR ETERNAL GRATITUDE." Prior to the wreath laying the US National Anthem was played, following the placement of the wreath of beautiful summer flowers, a gun salute and taps were played. Several hundred visitors took part in viewing the brief ceremony.

  2. Following the official ceremony, Superintendent Hans Hooker, an Army combat wounded veteran, led Bill White and guests, spending almost two hours with them in the cemetery. "We learned so much about the history of the battle, imagined the treacherous conditions experienced by our troops, heard of their unspeakable courage, heroism and bravery exhibited in support of defeating the Nazi regime," noted Bill White. The Normandy American cemetery is located in Colleville-sur-Mer on a bluff overlooking the eastern end of Omaha Beach, known as "Bloody Omaha" after the D-Day invasion which began on June 4, 1944. White said on his visit to honor and reflect upon the 'ultimate sacrifice' that was made sixty seven years ago, "It was truly a life changing event and worth every minute regardless of how long a distance it is from where most people are when they visit France. I wish we could have spent the day there. They have an amazing new visitor center too. It is worth making the time and if one can go with their family, to remember these men, to honor them, and to stop and say thank you. To spend some time among them, these giants among men, ordinary men turned heroes, patriots and indeed the people who have given us our freedom. We owe them and their families so very much." Bill White urges us all to never forget the 9,387 killed in action during the D-Day invasion and all those who have served, died, been wounded or scarred in some way in service of our nation. About Bill White Bill White has dedicated his career to honoring and supporting our nation's military personnel, veterans and their families. Bill White retired after 20 years as President of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and currently serves on the boards of Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and Intrepid Relief Fund.
