  6. PASSIVE • Unable/unwilling to express thoughts and feelings in a firm/direct manner.

  7. AGGRESSIVE • Overly forceful, pushy, or hostile. Threatening

  8. ASSERTIVE • Expressing your views clearly and respectfully.

  9. SPEAKING SKILLS

  10. VOICE VOLUME How loud or soft

  11. Tone and Pitch Inflections or emphasis in your voice

  12. “I” Messages vs “YOU” Messages “You” message “You never listen to anything I say.” “I” message (focuses on your feelings) “I feel like my suggestions aren’t being taken seriously”
