  1. Separate waste collection Dante’s Disciples

  2. Waste collection • Recycling is the best way to preserve and maintain our natural resources, in our benefit and that of our future generations: reuse waste, from paper to plastic, may help restore and maintain an environment "naturally" richer.

  3. RECYCLING ORGANIC WASTE By waste management we intend the strategies for the entire waste process, from their production to their final destination, such as: collection, transport, treatment (recycling or destruction) and also the reuse of waste materials mainly produced by man, in an attempt to reduce their effects on health and environment. In the last decades the reduction of the effects of waste materials on nature and the environment and also the possibility of getting some resources out of them with the reduction of the waste production, has been of great interest.

  4. The Composting Household composting is a process that refers to the production of a compost from the organic waste from the kitchen (fruit, vegetables, food, coffee, etc…) and from the garden (leaves, and other garden waste). The result of the decomposing process is the compost. The composting plant transforms the humid part of the waste (organic kitchen waste such as fruit, vegetables, bones, meat, fish; green waste such as: leaves, wood). This type of plant accelerates the natural process which transforms the autumn dead leaves in fertile humus.

  5. WASTE DISPOSAL By waste disposal we refer to: collection, sorting, transport, waste treatment and storage in the ground or soil. Organic waste is disposed of in many households and for this reason it was set up the so-called "bin for organic waste" that allows families and businesses that have no chance to do their own composting, to do a differentiate disposal of waste. The Autonomous Province of Bolzano imposes the collection of organic waste. It is a sensible measure, because the waste is "too precious" to be disposed of with municipal solid waste and can be reused in nature as a valuable fertilizer.

  6. GRANAROLO DELL’EMILIA Granarolo dell'Emilia is a municipality of 10.286 inhabitants found in the vicinity of the Bologna Province. The city of Granarolo is twinned with the city of Bagnères-de-Bigorre, France.

  7. How many waste disposal facilities are in the town of Granarolo? There is material incineration plant which is used to produce energy. It is situated in Quarto Inferiore and is operated by HERA-group Company.

  8. Is there, in the municipality of Granarolo, organic waste disposal? There are several basic ecological islands: groups of five bins (glass, paper, organic, plastic and undifferentiated) which effects only the collection but not disposal.

  9. Are there composters used in this city? And if so, where are they located? There are no public composters. There is, however, a warehouse where there are domestic composters and where citizens can make the request to receive one.

  10. The collection of recyclable waste is carried out regularly? By which entity? Waste collection is carried out regularly about 3-4 times a week by the HERA company. Moreover, there is a new project: collecting door to door in the industrial zones that occurs at least once or twice a week during the night.

  11. How many kilograms of waste are produced by the popolation? How many of these kilos are then collected? The amount of waste in Granarolo is undefined. But there is a division between differentiated and undifferentiated waste collection.
