Technology is Changing All Jobs… • 25% of US jobs (36 million jobs) will face high exposure to automation in the next 3 years (Brookings Institute) • Every job will be impacted by technology • Routine, predictable physical and cognitive tasks are the most vulnerable to complete automation • How do we ensure equal opportunity?

  3. ..At Unprecedented Speed • Between June, 2016 and June, 2018 the number of job postings with Artificial Intelligence or ‘Machine Learning” increased by 100% (Indeed) • In 2018 87% of all data had been created in the last two years ( National Academy of Sciences) • “28 states are collecting data to determine the alignment between industry credentials and the job market” Burning Glass, 2019

  4. What’s Happening? • 7.5 million open jobs • 3.6% unemployment (April,2019) • 62.8% Labor Market Participation Rate –below the 69 year average (67.3 in 1/2000; 58.1 in 12/54) • In March, 2019 there were 5.7 million hires; 5.4 million separations (3.4 m quits;1.7 m lay-offs; 300K other) • BLS
