  1. 34th Street Phase II Transitway Concept Bus Travel Buses operate in a two way physically separated transitway. On the west side of Manhattan the transitway is on the south side of the street; on the east side of Manhattan, the transitway is on the north side of the street. In the middle of Manhattan there will be a plaza providing additional pedestrian space, as well as a place for express buses to pass local buses.

  2. 34th Street Phase II Transitway Concept Other Vehicular Travel Other traffic travels in one direction, away from the center of the island. No through traffic is permitted through the new pedestrian plaza. In other locations, two general traffic lanes and one parking/loading lane will be created.
