  1. Shannon and Jessie’sinterview with John Beecham 25.04.2012

  2. John Beecham was born on the 24th of April 1944. He was born in Bedford, then when he was two years old, he moved to Loughton, then Chingford, with his family, this is where he grew up.

  3. John’s earliest sporting memory was playing football. It has always been John’s only favourite sport. He remembers watching 1966 world cup, England vs Germany, the only time England won. His 10 year old grandson, Carl, plays football for Leytonstone Junior.

  4. John does not really remember specific Olympics, but did recall watching the 1952 Olympics on television. His favourite athlete was Roger Bannister, who famously ran the 4 minute mile. The fastest runner of the mile now is Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco, who holds the world record for the fastest mile with a time of 3:43.13. John likes watching running in the Olympics because he thinks it is exciting.

  5. John’s hobbies are watching football ,cricket and Dancing on Ice. He likes the Beatles, his favourite song is Help!

  6. When John was younger, his mum had 12 fluffy chickens. Growing up, he was close to his two brothers, Bob and Alan. John has three daughters, one is getting married in Rochford in October, he also has seven grandchildren- Cally, Brandon, Reece, Casie, Carl, Isobel and Holly.
