  1. Shelby Seaquist The Lion

  2. Quest In a valley in the middle of absolute nowhere, in a rural village, the Pecore family raises sheep. Their livelihood is threatened after a lion escaped a traveling circus. For the last few years, the lion has been killing the Pecore family’s sheep and disappearing into the hills. He returns and disappears unnoticed except for the missing sheep and dead lambs.

  3. Journey After some years of the lion slaughtering the Pecore family’s sheep, the oldest son, Sam, decides to set out to find and kill the beast.

  4. Journey • His first stop is the town square, where he asks the residents what they know of the lion.

  5. Journey The next place Sam must go is through vast scrubland. Traveling through such a place is hard due to the dryness and the threat of wolves. But Sam is able to make it to his destination.

  6. Journey • Sam’s final destination are the barren hills, where the lion is rumored to live.

  7. Hero In town, The grocer, old Mr. Barley, tells Sam that the lion most likely resides in the barren hills to the northeast. “There are also wolves, so you’d best be careful,” Mr. Barely adds. “I don’t care about those wolves,” Sam says, “They eat deer and rabbits, not sheep like in the stories. It’s not them I’m after.” “But, if you went out there, they’d be after you. It would be safest for you to stay home and set traps. If the lion comes back, you could snare him and kill him without the risk of hurting yourself.”

  8. Hero Sam just shakes his head at old Mr. Barley, “No, this beast can’t be caught. He’s eluded me for these years and now I know he can’t be taken down when he’s on a hunt. I have to go get him myself. It’s the only way to end this.” So, with the lead from old Mr. Barley, Sam heads out for the barren hills.

  9. Test Sam’s first test is a fight with a hungry wolf. The two fight it out, with Sam victorious only when the wolf pins him to the ground and Sam desperately stabs the wolf to save himself.

  10. Gaurdian • Once the wolf is dead and Sam has reached the barren hills, he climbs the steepest, rockiest hill, certain that the lion would have chosen only the hardest place to raid as his kingdom. And, sure enough, the lion awaits him at the top.

  11. Final Test The lion and Sam fight it out. The lion has strength and speed, but Sam is more nimble. His only weapon is a hunting knife, but in the end he is victorious.
