  1. Duct Cleaning Sacramento Duct Cleaning Sacramento The Elements of a Clothes dryer Fire Ward off a fire hazard with effective dryer vent cleaning and dryer maintenance service Most people are meticulous about getting their HVAC system cleaned, but the truth is, very few people ponder their clothes dryer relative to fire avoidance. Hundreds of dryer fires occur every year, causing deaths, impairments, property devastation and home loss. Besides being a fire threat, incorrect dryer venting also presents a carbon monoxide problem. These circumstances can be prevented with suitably installed and maintained dryer vents. A clothing dryer fire results when lint builds up minimizing airflow which then causes overheating. The heat and the volatile lint are the prime compounds for a dryer fire. Tumble dryers create a good deal of lint and only cleaning the lint screen is not nearly enough. The lint screen traps a lot of lint while some escapes into the inside of the dryer cabinet, precariously near to the heating element. The most effective procedure to ensure your dryer venting system is dependable is to have it expertly inspected and cleaned about once a year. One other concern is the overall length of the duct; the shorter, the more effective. There was a time when most clothes dryers were in the basement, on an outside wall, with a pretty short, straight vent to the outside. Nowadays many modern-day homes tend to have their laundry room positioned away from an outside wall, with some located on the second floor. This means dryer vents are much longer and contain some turns where dust and lint can gather. They're also difficult to get to and thus a greater challenge to keep cleaned. The recommended dryer vent system is short and straight. The parts should also be properly joined to make the interior smooth and free of screws or rivets which lint can easily catch on. It is very important that the duct be composeded of rigid material, not the bendable, foil kind of tube that crumbles easily, constricting air movement. Admit sufficient open space between the clothes dryer and the wall. One mistake people oftentimes make is pushing the dryer too close to the wall, squashing the vent and developing an airflow challenge immediately. Here's one last hint that not too many people understand. The dryer vent screen should be washed completely with hot soapy water every few months to eliminate residue accumulation triggered by fabric softener sheets. It is essentially possible for the lint filter to have so much accumulation on it that it will hold water! This definitely limits air flow and causes the dryer to take more than one cycle to successfully dry a load of clothing. This report was composed by The Dryer Vent Wizard, who would like all people to become aware of how unstable their seemingly innocent clothes dryer might be.
