  1. Monitoring Wind Speed in Crownpoint N.M. A project by Steven & Nicholas

  2. Windy and Blustery Day… • In Crownpoint N.M., there are extremely powerful winds that can tear apart homes. They damage property and cause problems for the people of the community.

  3. What do we do ? • We would monitor the wind speed in our town and convince people that they need to reinforce their property in order to save it.

  4. How to go about the problem • We would have to work with the community and gather people and educate them about the problem in order to try to slow down or stop the process. Most likely through student senate and working with the chapter house.

  5. Spread the message • People in our community gather all the time for meetings concerning our academics and the sports the students in the community play in. Why not just gather people to help spread the word about the climate change issue that we need to address ?

  6. Who will help ? • A few organizations will be needed in order to actually accomplish the goal we set. Most likely the help of the chapter house along with the Navajo EPA will be needed in order to convince the citizens of Crownpoint.

  7. Internet guidance • Materials and mapping strategies would most likely be needed to make this a reality. That’s where the internet would come in. The internet might provide evidences of similar problems in other areas and give resources and solutions that we can use in our community.
