  2. Housekeeping • If you do NOT understand a direction or lab procedure – ASK the Instructor • You must put the equipment away after use! (chairs, computers, paper, water bottles, notebooks, textbooks, clothing)

  3. You have the right ……………. • Every student has the right to learn and is responsible to allow their fellow classmates to learn

  4. WILL NOT BE TOLERATED • Practical Jokes – are always against the rules … • Bullying • Horseplay • Drama …..

  5. Classroom Policies • When you arrive: • Enter the classroom on time, quietly and dressed appropriately. • Be prepared. Have your textbook, notebook, pencil ready. • Be ready 8:15/12

  6. TOD’s • Due 8:15/12:15 unless otherwise noted if your TOD is not handed in on time it is a 0. • Not group work

  7. Classroom Policies: • Be seated. Open your notebook and answer the problem of the day. Be prepared to discuss it.

  8. Attire • Wearing your scrubs and sneakers and ID, every day is part of your employability grade, which is worth 20% of your overall grade.

  9. Consequences of Not wearing uniform • If you do not wear a complete uniform, you will not be able to participate in any of the day’s activities. • You will be assigned an alternate assignment that must be completed in addition to that day’s activities. • Continual will result in parent conference & referral & loss of priveledges (snack cabinet, field trips, etc..)

  10. Alternative Assignment • You will be removed from classroom/lab activity for that day • You will read and write 5 (five) articles in nursing journals and respond with 5 (five) paragraph essays from each • Worth 100% • Receive 0 for employability

  11. employability • Frequent redirection result 0 • On task (socializing most of day) lower to no points. May ask to see work at end of day • No ID – 0 for ID and loose points on # 3 & # 6 • Persistent lingering in hall result in lost time on #4

  12. PDP’s • Due every other Wednesday • Place in bin • If you do not finish that day, please let me know to look in your bins

  13. Class schedule • DHO – Monday, Wed, Fri • A&P – Tuesday, Thursday • Medical Terminology –days 4/6 or 2 x/week

  14. Show Respect by: • Environment – take care of the classroom including equipment, furniture. Keep the classroom clean and orderly. Stealing, defacing, or vandalizing WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! • Workspace bins

  15. ENVIRONMENT • All students will be assigned clean up duties which they must complete before they leave. • Clean up assignments will be posted on a daily rotating basis. • Clean up assignments are part of your daily employability grade.

  16. Expectations • When you have a question, wait until the end of the lesson or when the teacher asks for questions. • During lessons, you will take notes, do not get out of your seats or talk to your friends.

  17. Attendance • Employability grade depends on your attendance. • This is 20% of your overall grade. • If you do not attend – you receive a zero that day. • All work needs to be made up. The student is expected to ask the teacher for missed work. Points will be taken off for lateness and after one week you will receive a zero. • Each Day is worth 40 points

  18. Absent • Must have note within 3 days • Responsible getting missed work • All notes on LCTI web site

  19. Attendance • Colleges looking at attendance records • Studies show lower grades related to poorer attendance • P – 3/5 years • LVH – 3/10 yrs • PMC – 2/2

  20. Participation • Every student is expected to participate in lessons, discussions, skills and activities. • Participation is part of your employability grade. • This is 20% of your overall grade.

  21. Attention! • Heads are not permitted to be down on the desks at any time. • No sleeping at any time is allowed in the classroom. • You need to be working on classroom activities at all times. • Repeated offenses will result in discipline actions.

  22. Assignments • 10 Points will be deducted for each day late. After five days you will receive a zero. 0r 50% on final grade if packet signed in and not tested. • Don’t forget to work on your projects and PDP books.

  23. Food and beverages • This is a privilege that can be taken away at any time. • When instructor at cabinet, walk around not in between. Just shows respect.

  24. Rewards • At the end of every day, students will receive an employability grade (0-40), that is worth 200 points each week • You will self evaluate daily. The instructor’s grade will be final. • STAR cards only Health. No more than 1 extension.

  25. End of Marking Period • Will NOT test on last day of marking period • Activity days/Game days
