ABOUT UVOICE • uVoice was founded in 2013 as a collaboration between Community Youth Concepts and the Mid Iowa Health Foundation. • In 2018 uVoice received additional funding from Delta Dental. • Students identify public health issues facing youth in our community and combat those issues through grant making and service learning.

About Mind Matters • Youth Summit planned in collaboration between uVoice, Please Pass the Love, and Al Exito: By Youth - For Youth • 78 students attended the event which consisted of speakers, breakout sessions, and mental health resources for students. • Some of the topics discussed included: • Microaggressions • Coping Skills • Self Advocacy • Helping friends and peers experiencing mental health problems • Panel about a cultural approach to mental health.

  4. Mind Matters Impact • Large group of people coming together to talk about mental health without stigma • Power of collaboration • Learning things about each other and about themselves • Opportunity to uplift youth voice in the community about mental health - students advocate for their own needs and share experiences. • Adults hear directly from students
