  1. 5 Tips for Shopping at the Farmers Market While Social Distancing

  2. Be Healthy And Wear A Mask The main thing is being healthy. Don’t visit the farmers market if you are ill or symptomatic or a member of a high-risk group. If possible, just send a family member or a friend to the shop for you. Also check if you can arrange a pickup and delivery option. Keep your face covered, wear proper face masks, face shields, gloves and follow social distancing stickers. If you sneeze or cough, use a tissue or your elbow. These tips will help you protect others and keep you safe.

  3. Shop Quickly And Efficiently When you visit farmers market ensure you avoid the peak time or the rush hours. This is the time with huge footfalls and if you visit, you may run the risk of getting infected. Next, limit your shopping time. if you earlier spent an hour to buy fruits and vegetables, reduce it to 30 minutes. Many farmers offer you prebagged items meaning you just grab it, pay for it and go. Many prepared food vendors pack foods to go for you to take away. These come packed so you don’t need to spend time picking it.

  4. Shop Solo And Keep A Safe Distance This is the best thing you can do- shop solo. Of course, a helping hand can do. But if you want to enjoy safe shopping experience, ensure you shop alone. Send one member of the family to shop or you can visit alone. This is will help avoid crowding. Usually, the farmers market booths are spaced apart to let you move with ease. If you meet a friend, or co worker resist the urge to stop and chat. It is best to leave the space as soon as possible after you have finished shopping.

  5. Mind the Queue Maintaining social distance is the need of the hour. Maintain six feet distance while shopping and waiting in line at the farmers market. Many shops have social distancing signs put up for shoppers to know where they need to be while shopping. You must follow these signs to enjoy shopping safely. Look at the social distancing stickers, and visual signs. Follow rules wherever you are standing to make it easier for yourself and for others, too. Maintain the gap and don’t rush.

  6. Wash Your Hands Wash your hands before going out and after coming back from the farmers market. You will find hand washing stations in the farmers market, and bathrooms located on both ends of the market. Wash your hands frequently and for 20 seconds and always avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. If you aren’t able to wash hands, use hand sanitizers frequently.
