Second negative statement Luke 10:38-40 “As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made…” “You’re not good enough...” Performer Proving something to somebody or maybe even yourself
4. What negative emotional door have you left open? Third negative statement “You are not worthy...” John 4:17-18 He said to her… “You are right when you say that you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband.” Clinger Looking for validation from people
5. What negative emotional door have you left open? Number One In Christ, you are forgiven Ephesians 1:7-8 “In Christ we are set free by the blood of his death, and so we have forgiveness of sins. How rich is God’s grace, which he has given to us so fully and freely…” 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!” Forgiven because Jesus is ultimately good You are not who others say that you are – You are who Christ says that you are.
6. What negative emotional door have you left open? Number Two In Christ, you are secure 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” In the King James Bible it uses the word earnest for deposit The term “Earnest Money” is still used in Real Estate contracts One of the Greek word for deposit [ἀῤῥαβών] is engagement ring We have full rights to God’s grace You are not who others say that you are – You are who Christ says that you are.

Number Three In Christ, you are free Grab those thoughts and take them captive, making them obedient to Christ John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Give up the offense Slam the door shut! You are not who others say that you are – You are who Christ says that you are.
8. Close the doors to painful words Number One In Christ, you are forgiven Number Two In Christ, you are secure Number Three In Christ, you are free You are not who others say that you are – You are who Christ says that you are.
