  • I-TECH funded by HRSAandHHS/CDC-GAP in April 2002 at University of Washington in Seattle

    • Principal Investigator: King K. Holmes, MD, PhD

  • Joint project with University of California San Francisco

  • Additional funds from USAID since 2003 for work in the Caribbean

    • Principal Investigator: Ann Downer, MS, EdD

    • Caribbean Field Manager: June Alleyne Griffin

  • Work in 25 countries worldwide

    • ~225 employees, ~50 employees in Seattle

    • 10 field offices

    • ~120 partnerships and vendors


Mandate

Mandate

Increase human and institutional capacity for effective care and treatment of HIV/AIDS:

  • Building infrastructure for long-term delivery of effective training and health care services

  • Increasing human capacity in program management, clinical care, instructional design, information management, monitoring and evaluation

  • Promoting transfer of learning from classroom to practice through clinical mentoring and long-term decision support

  • Providing support for implementation of continuous quality management practices

  • Support capacity development needs in the subregion that will ensure quality care and treatment for people living with HIV and AIDS

  • Strengthen links with CHART and other national, regional, and international programs and resources

  • Implemented in collaboration with FXB

  • Staff of four to carry out activities

  • Close collaboration with Health Sciences Education Unit
