  1. INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENT Application for renewal of license before 6 month of expiry with requisite fees. Applications not submitted in time Equipments/instruments are not calibrated. Compliance of FDA observations not done in time. Compliance required by Blood Banks namely, Beed, Ulhasnagar, Jawahar, Chandrapur, Pune, Raigad, Satara, Nandurbar Regular follow up with FDA for compliance, renewal, new license etc. For above activities SBTC and Jt.Director (Hospital) required to be posted.

  2. PERFORMANCE OF BLOOD BANKS Total Blood Banks-33 Total Collection- 1,07,384 Less than 3,000- 18 Blood Banks Akola, Buldhana, Shegaon, Gadchiroli, Hingoli, Jalna, Nagpur, Nasik, Osmanabad, Pune, Ratnagiri, Satar, Sindhudurg, Cottage Hospital Jawahar, Thane, Central Hospital Ulhasnagar, Wardha, Washim. Voluntary Blood Collection 90 to 100% VBD in 32 Blood Banks. Lowest VBD % - 52.68 at Khamgaon HIV Seropositiivity- More than state average of 0.23% at Nasik, Daga Nagpur, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Pune, Karad, Ulhasnagar.

  3. V.B.D. GUIDELINES NACO support for- Donor refreshment, donor certificate, badges/pins, vehicle-POL, DA for staff, IEC material. VBD grants are not utilized. Sometime funds are returned to SBTC SOE/UC are not submitted in time(i.e. immediately after its spending). List attached All Dist. Blood banks to ensure adequate blood in blood banks for successful implementation of Blood On Call. District VBD Committee meetings needs to be conducted regularly i.e. every two months.

  4. BLOOD ON CALL Launched from 7th Jan. 2014. Some of the Blood Banks do not respond to Calls from Toll Free Number- 104. Amravati, Bhandara,. Diversion of calls from One Blood Bank to another Buldhana to Khamgaon. Maintaining adequate stock of blood to meet 100% demand. At present there is gap of 35% in demand and supply. All Dist. BBs to display hoardings about Blood on Call in hospital premises. Matter will be sent on email shortly. IEC Bureau will provide laminated posters for distribution to hospitals, Nursing homes, Rural Hospitals etc.

  5. BLOOD STORAGE CENTRES Total storage centres 235 Functional – 111 Non Functional 124 Reasons for non functional Civil work incomplete ( 29 ) Non-availability of equipments ( 31 ) Non-availability of manpower ( 10 ) Pending renewal of license ( 54 ) List attached.

  6. STRENGHTENING OF HUMAN RESOURCES SBTC has provided additional staff (1BTO, 1Technician and 1 MSW) at each Blood Bank. There are vacancies at 9 Blood Banks for which Advt. issued in the Newspaper of 23/24th May 2014. Walk In interview scheduled on 31st May 2014. Observations: Staff is utilised for Rajiv Gandhi Scheme, pathology lab, casualty etc. As per rules, BTO has to supervise the grouping and cross matching. Any mishap invites public criticism through press report. Therefore, CS to ensure utilization of additional manpower in Blood Bank only. CS may also ensure to fill in required staff in Blood Bank. Performance report of the staff appointed by SBTC is rquired to be submitted t for further continuation of contract.
