  1. ALCOHOL AWARENESS Celebrate alcohol awareness week this week by thinking about your alcohol use. Keep track of the alcohol units you are drinking: Adults should not regularly drink more than 3-4 units of alcohol for men and 2-3 units of alcohol for women. Alcohol free days allow your body to recover. Eat high calorie, slow releasing carbohydrates such as breads/pastas in order to soak up alcohol and hopefully avoid sickness and vomiting. Drinking on an empty stomach will most likely result in this. Drink water in between alcoholic drinks (it will not get you less drunk). Alcohol is a diuretic (dehydrates you) so keeping hydrated will aid the recovery and lessen the hangover. Stress - Some people drink alcohol to relax, but in reality alcohol can make you feel even more stressed . Try not to make alcohol key to your after work wind down, and try some alternative stress-busters like hitting the gym or asking Subwize about the Dagenham Boxing Scheme. If you are concerned about your, a friend, or family member’s alcohol use call or text Subwize for a friendly chat on 07765 402 133 / 0208 227 5019
