  2. Background • Test date: November 22, 2008, 0930 hrs. • Dutchess County Fire Training Center • Room: 12’ x 15’ x 8’ ½” sheetrock over wood 2x4 studs • Fireload = Class A (furniture, etc) • Ignition source = road flare Dutchess Community College Fire Science program

Chronological Order • Fire ignited • Side D window vented after about 8 minutes to prevent backdraft and allow for fire growth • Shortly thereafter the room flashed over and front thermo pane glass doors self vented. • FIT 5 was activated and thrown in • The following pictures start with the device being thrown in.   9. OBSERVATIONS • Due to the lack of confinement the agent was able to escape and oxygen was able to be re-introduced into the fire room. Thus the fire did eventually grow back to its original intensity. • It seems logical that if the room was unvented the agent would have been confined and thus the fire re-growth would not have occurred or would have at least been significantly delayed.
