Organization of Parties National State and Local Work at the county or city level (precinct) Volunteers work to try to get someone elected State parties work to get people elected to governor or state-level positions in Harrisburg • All 50 states • Chairperson and committee • National Conventions • National Rep. and Dem. Committees • Develop platforms and planks

  4. Party Conventions • Purposes: • Officially nominate president and VP candidate for each party • Meet to discuss platform for election • Issues (planks) • What are some issues that each party might discuss? • Delegates (members) vote for who will represent the party in the election
