  2. Heat Treatment • A change to the specification is proposed: • current specification requires HT to 56/30 at the core; • proposed to change to 56/30 “throughout the entire profile of the wood”

  3. Methyl Bromide • A specific reference to MB’s effect on the ozone layer, and an encouragement to use an alternative treatment is proposed; • it is proposed to require the removal of bark prior to treatment to increase efficacy; • prescribed treatment procedures (e.g. fans, maximum chamber loading, stacking) to improve efficacy are proposed.

  4. The Mark • Proposed changes: • mark to be enclosed in a border, IPPC logo separated by a vertical line; • gaps allowed to enable stencilling; • hand drawn marks will not be permitted; • labels and tags will be permitted; • treatment code no longer required; • ISO 2-digit country and NPPO-assigned producer codes ONLY to be in the box • examples of possible options to be included • dunnage can be marked at short intervals to enable cutting to fit
