Wind poweplants (VE) • Wind powerplants started developing around the late 80’s • To this day in Croatia there are 8 wind powerplants with around 79 wind turbines • Yearly they produce around 383 GWh of electricity (in comparison TE Plomin 3 produces around 2173 GWh) • Most of them are in Primorska Croatia because of the strong winds

  5. Hydro powerplant Ombla • Ombla is a river near Dubrovnik • The river Ombla is situated on a sensible karst landscape • There was a big discusion about the building of the Ombla hydro powerplant • In the end it was decided that the powerplant is not going to be built

  6. Thermal powerplants (TE)Plomin • TE Plomin is a set of two powerplants (Plomin 1 and 2) • The powerplants run on coal • Plomin 3 is planned to be built until 2018 • It is currently discussed if the powerplant will be run on coal or gas
