  2. PlotThe sequence of events • Every one is talking about how Percy embarrassed Clarisse in the bathroom. • Percy finds out that Athena is Annabeth’smom. • They all go down to the dinner pavilion and they offered food to the gods. • After dinner they all went to Apollo's cabin for a sing along

  3. Plot Continued • Percy swordfights Luke and disarms him. • Percy plays capture the flag with the other demi gods • The hellhound almost kills Percy but the archers kill it. • Percy is hurt but then goes into the water and heals therefore they find out that Percy is the son of Posiden.

  4. ConflictA struggle between two opposing forces Internal Conflict-A struggle within a character • Percy debates in his mind who his father is. External Conflict-A struggle with two or more characters. • The hellhound almost kills Percy.

  5. SettingWhere and when the story takes place • Chapter 7 takes place at camp half blood in the dining pavilion. • Chapter8 takes place at camp half blood and in the woods where they played capture the flag.

  7. Mythological AllusionsA reference to Greek mythology • Hermes- The messenger god with winged sandals. • Luke, one of the counselors is Hermes son. Percy swordfights Luke and disarms him.

  8. Mythological Allusions continued • The caduceus is the symbol of the messenger god Hermes. • The caduceus is on the shield that Percy uses during capture the flag.

  9. Mythological Allusions continued • The Minotaur is half man half bull and was trapped in the labyrinth made by Daedalus • The Minotaur killed Percy’s mom.
