  1. Vertical: Non-profit | Horizontal: Data Services A leading non-profit development corporation based in US engaged Diaspark to replace its disparate data systems and unify all into one intuitive and seamless online reporting system.

  2. The Client The client is a non-profit local development corporation that promotes economic growth and dedicated to strengthen development in NYC. It also helps create affordable housing, new parks, shopping areas, community centers, cultural centers, and other infrastructures. The Business Challenges • Reports on several projects were dispersed across various data systems that used different technologies and lacked operational interoperability • Report generation through corporation’s current system was time consuming as it was manual and recursive in nature • Inadequate technical knowledge to run and generate custom reports (project wise reports, data dictionary, XData & pivot tables) • Over-engineered and complex architecture of the survey data collection system because of which information was not available for quick access • Inability in building a reporting system that has provision to run both summary and detail version of reports with a data probing mechanism for business users and compliance managers to investigate the data Diaspark’s Solution Diaspark’s two decades of experience, domain expertise and cutting edge technology helped client to design and develop a data replication and reporting service using Microsoft SharePoint Server2010 and Microsoft SQL Server 200 R2 as back end system. With a dedicated SharePoint practice team consisting of professionals including SharePoint Architects, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Technical Engineers , Diaspark reengineered the crystal reporting architecture using the integration services suite of Microsoft SQL Server2008 R2 to deliver real time output using reporting services. The project was delivered in just 15 months. For the front-end system, Diaspark deployed Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 with its familiar Microsoft Office interface, to allow users to access business information quickly and share it with other users. Project Insights dashboard with intuitive web interface provides custom reports using SharePoint and SQL Server and allows Corporation to use a standard branding application across the board and generate detailed and analytical reports on few clicks. Moreover, reports can be generated in PDF and excel format.

  3. Benefits include Ease of access A user friendly, intuitive and well-integrated web interface for reporting helps users to get instant access to reports; customized view of project specific (criteria based) reports and allows yearly comparisons on project data in few clicks. Reports can be viewed in different types - metrics, status reports, KPIs, charts, graphs, and custom reports. Reduced information overload Managers get a clear and precise view of relevant information through an intuitive dashboard. Reports are generated automatically without putting manual and repeated efforts for an instant access to the information needed. Thus, they are not flooded with the information which they don’t really need. Improved decision making The key stakeholders of the corporation gains more visibility into the projects and their clients’ data which were earlier dispersed across various data systems. Through a rich graphical user interface, users tend to make informed decisions as they have easy and quick access to the project information. They are also able to measure the key parameters, review project portfolio and see the status of each project.
