  1. Estimating a Project Dimensioning Order Cut List Bill of Material

  2. Proper Dimensioning Order • This is a standard way that dimensions are listed. • They are usually given in inches not feet and inches.

  3. Dimensioning Order # - Thx W x L # = Number of Pieces Th = Thickness – measured across the end grain. W = Width – measured across the grain. L = Length – measured with the grain.

  4. Cut list A list of all the parts and the sizes. This list includes: • Names of all the parts • Material that is used • Size and quantity of parts in proper dimension order

  6. Bill of Materials List of the total amount of each material that is used in a project. This includes: • Each material that is used • Total quantity of that material • Supplier of the material • Price (price per unit and total price)

  8. When Figuring cost of a Project • Add a waste factor of 33% for solid wood. • Add a waste factor of 40% for panel stock.
