  2. Current Malaria Status in RSA • By 2001 morbidity reduced by 59% • Between 2000 & 2008, mortality reduced by 96%; morbidity by 88%

  3. LLIN Ordering and Distribution Schedule • NA

  4. ACT/RDTs Ordering and Delivery Schedule • ACT coverage in South Africa ~100% • ACT and RDTs Procurement and delivery through provincial medical stores on National tender • Very occasional stock outs ACT and RDTs- systems in place to replenish stocks.

  5. IRS Schedule • High IRS coverage sustained >80% for last 10 years; in 2008 - 88% coverage was achieved • Plans in place to sustain high coverage with adequate resources • Training is conducted routinely during July and August, each year

  6. Other core interventions/ Plans to be delivered in next 17 Months • Support to cross border initiatives: • LSDI, TLMI • Botswana,Northern Mozambique • Programme review & Update of strategic plan • Elimination strategy • Costed Implementation plans by National M&E plan for elimination • National malaria database • Progress on implementation of communication strategy • Resource mobilisation
