Read bulletin without hearing “extraneous” requests and announcements. CE and Programs CE is for children and youth. Adults like topics and leaders that address daily issues. More willing to read and listen. Visuals and multimedia need to be well done. Good leadership is required. Leading short term programs for people like themselves. CE and Programs Interested in exchanging ideas and learning. Want their children to learn the basics of faith. Multimedia Presentations and Problem Solving. Programs: Life is built around seasons. Participation: Music, drama and reading. Time: Experiment with afternoons, early evenings and days other than Sunday. CE and Programs Classes taught by a recognized authority will bring them. Discussion and participation on topics related to their life will keep them. Confident with abstract thoughts and ideas. Students, Profs. Live by academic calendar. Want stories about people, trials, abilities and rise above adversity. Participation: Most will participate with time to prepare. Fellowship after worship is good. Time: Children’s schedules are major pressures. Several options Sunday mornings and Sun. and Sat. evenings. CE and Programs Children are brought to SS. Expectation is SS will be as good as Week-day school. Adults will come to quality program and short-term class. Problem Solving and multimedia are normal experiences. School calendars have big influence. Do not close church school during summer months. Programs: For children they want training in Christian Faith and Church History. Short term classes on relationships, business ethics, corporate ethics, ambition and career tracks from the perspective of Christian Faith. Reaching Upscale Suburban (5)

  15. Possible Target Groups and Ideas • Average length of residence is 8 years. Target new people moving into the area. • Fastest growing ethnic groups are Asian/Pacific and Hispanic. We are far below the percentages for these areas. • 58.2 % of residents are married. Develop more ministries for singles residents. • 44.2% families have children at home. Continue to have ministry for children &youth. • 60% families have 2 incomes. Be more creative in our worship and program offerings to accommodate today’s schedules.

Recomendations • Worship: variety in style, most people will want to be active participants. • music: lively, using instruments, and many different groups. • Sermon: living as a Christian, practical guidance. • CE and Programs: Population is talented and educated, but busy. Most adults prefer short-term and active ministries. • Adult classes need to have strong leadership, having authority on topics. • Ed. Programs that help people in their daily lives, ie. Parenting, EDL, Ethics. • Children’s programs need to provide good religious foundation and compare to week day schools.
