  1. John 4:7-15, 39-42 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” 15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.” 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word.42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

  2. Wet Winter Can’t Shake West’s Thirst March 31, 2011 Water managers warn that Lake Mead, the West's largest and most important reservoir, remains perilously near the level of 1,075 feet at which the U.S. Secretary of the Interior would likely declare a water shortage, for the first time in the nearly century-old history of the Colorado River system. Such a shortage would parch Nevada, Arizona and California with severe water-use restrictions. There alone, some 20 million people depend on Lake Mead's supplies.

  5. Moses the Human Was a murderer before God’s call Questioned God’s calling–‘I can’t talk’ Angered God, even after was called–struck the rock 2nd time Moses had a spiritual mission, but his water issues dealt with physical life

  6. Requirements Knowledge Response Questions III. Clarification Temporal vs. Everlasting 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

  7. EVERLASTING John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 1 John 5 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

  8. Living Water = EVERLASTING

  9. Must Make it Personal Share Your Story VI. Invest the Time VII. Rest upon Him 15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.” 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

  10. On the bus or In the boat? John 3 7-8 “So don’t be so surprised when I tell you that you have to be ‘born from above’—out of this world, so to speak. You know well enough how the wind blows this way and that. You hear it rustling through the trees, but you have no idea where it comes from or where it’s headed next. That’s the way it is with everyone ‘born from above’ by the wind of God, the Spirit of God.” Romans 1 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the powerof God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

  11. John 4: 36-37 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 1 Corinthians 2 : 1-5 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

  12. Application • Are you focusing on the physical or spiritual? • Your lack of perfection is not a problem to God. • You will make mistakes after God’s calling, but that doesn’t prevent accomplishing great things. • As someone that has discovered living water, what does your boat look like? Believer Non-Believer
