Important dates • May 9 (Tuesday) @ 6:30—Sr. Awards • Feb 24-- Must have Graduation Agreement in • May 8 (if ready) —Pick up caps/gowns (must have agreement in and not owe for anything for school!) • May 12 (Friday)—All Credit Recovery due • April 17 - May 5 —EOC Week • May 17-23 —Final Exams • May 25th (Thurs) @ 9:00 am*—Grad Practice • May 26th (Friday)—Be at Dunn Center at APSU 9:00 for Graduation at 10:00!

  5. 1. Dress Code School dress code must be followed for practice and graduation ceremony. Those seniors going through the line must meet the following dress requirements: Dress for men: • Dark Tie • Light Shirt • Dark Trousers (no jeans); khakis are acceptable • Dark Shoes and dark Socks (no sandals, athletic shoes, work boots, etc.)

  6. 1. Dress Code School dress code must be followed for practice and graduation ceremony. Those seniors going through the line must meet the following dress requirements: • Dress for women: • Dark Shoes (Heels not over two (2) inches - you will walk up a ramp) • Street-length Dress (no long dresses, shorts, or extremely short skirts). • Dark Dress Pants are acceptable (no jeans) • The gowns do not have collars; clothing must not show at the neckline.

  7. 2. SCHOOL RULES • All school rules apply at practice and the graduation ceremony. • Do not come to practice or the graduation ceremony using, possessing, giving, exchanging, transferring, or being under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. • No fighting at graduation practice or ceremony.

  8. 3. SCHOOL PROPERTY • Students will not be allowed to go through the graduation ceremony if they are caught or are implicated in the act of damaging or defacing the school, other public or staff property unless they have made restitution (andreceivedpunishment) to the satisfaction of the school administration and the school board.

  9. 4. GRADUATION PRACTICE • You MUST be at the Practice Session in order to be allowed to walk during graduation ceremony. • Practice will be on Thursday, May 25, in the CCCHS gym from 9 until around noon. • Arrive at 9:00—no late admittance • Sorry, no transportation will be provided.

  10. 5. cooperation • Students must cooperate fully with all of the sponsors’ directions. Violators will be escorted out by the SRO and will not be placed in the walk line.

  11. 6. Graduation day prep • Graduation will be on Friday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dunn Center at Austin Peay State University. • Seniors should be at the Dunn Center by 9:00. Students will line up in the hallway (tunnel). • No parents are allowed in the tunnel or on the floor at any time. • Parking is available in the large lot between the Dunn Center and the football stadium.

Graduation day prep • CHEWING GUM IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE TUNNEL OR DURING THE GRADUATION CEREMONY. • DO NOT BRING PURSES OR OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS INTO THE TUNNEL – YOU WILL NOT RETURN TO THE TUNNEL AFTER THE CEREMONY AND NEITHER THE SCHOOL NOR APSU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS BROUGHT TO THE TUNNEL

  13. 7. APSU rules • Austin Peay does not allow air horns or other loud noisemakers. Violators will be escorted out of the building. • Please be considerate of your classmates - everyone has the right to have his or her name heard when it is called.

  14. 8. Grad Attire • Accessories cannot be added to the graduation attire. Only awards from school-sponsored activities can be worn with graduation regalia.

  15. 8. Grad attire • You may not put anything on your cap except the provided tassel; caution – these tassels fall off the cap button easily, be careful with them. • If you plan on throwing your cap at the end of the ceremony you should write your name in it.

  16. 9. Dunn center • Tickets are not required for admission; there is plenty of seating available • APSU asks that we clear out of the Dunn Center immediately after the ceremony. There is not enough room in the foyer/lobby for our group. • At the end of the ceremony you may throw your caps up in the air, but please return to your seat as quickly as you can and allow the class officers to proceed down the center aisle and then follow them directly outside. Please have your family meet you there

  17. 9. Dunn center, cont’d. • After exiting the auditorium, your may pick up your diploma in the lobby. If you are lacking any credits or owe any fees, you will not be able to get your diploma that day. You will have to come to CCCHS to pay the fee, or have your credits made up no later than July.

Graduation agreement • All seniors must sign and return the Graduation Agreement form to the counseling office by Friday, February 24thin order to be placed in the walk line. • Caps and gowns will be given out only upon the payment of all debts and the return of the Graduation Agreement form.

  20. Policy 4.606 You must be within 2 credits to walk! In other words, pass your classes and your credit recovery!

  21. RECOGNITIONS • Honors—3.0 GPA • Highest Ranking—3.0 + Classes from policy 4.602 • Will find out in April if you have this and can order a cord

  22. RECOGNITIONS • NEW—State Distinction: must have a B average + 1 of the following: • National or state industry certification • Governor’s School • All state musical organization • National Merit finalist or semi-finalist • 31 or higher on ACT • Score 3 or higher on 2 or more placement exams • Earn 12 or more semester hours of dual enrollment credit • Tell Guidance!

  23. RECOGNITIONS • Volunteerism—recognize all students with 10 hours of community service each semester during high school • Tell Guidance!

  24. Caps & Gowns • Pick up on May 8thduring lunch • Remember ONLY after turning in your form
