  5. EFA RADIO NETWORK Introduction of “VH4EVO” (EFA CH 1) located at Clear Mountain. Coverage across most of Brisbane EFA CH 2, 3 & 4 all Simplex Channels EFA CH 1 to be used on large scale events where large area coverage necessary EFA CH 2, 3 & 4 to be used on local events where small area of coverage required

  7. CALLSIGNS Every EFA Officer issued an individual Callsign – printed clearly on ID Badge Special callsigns used in crew situations, eg: Roving Crews, Forward Control etc Callsigns to be used at all times when using radios Vehicle Callsigns printed on side of vehicles

  8. CALLSIGNS • Skill Levels of officers are as follows: • Sierra - Health Care Options Manager • Alpha - ICP, Medical Officer • Bravo- ACP, RN • Charlie- P1 Paramedic • Delta- Student w No Resus Equipment • Echo- Student w No Resus Equipment • Limo- Non-Clinical Unit, Lifeguard

  10. COLOUR CODES CODE BLACK – officer in duress & requires urgent security and/or QPS assistance State Location ASAP or hold down PTT button on radio in case location is stated during talkdown tactics ALL OFFICERS TO MAINTAIN RADIO SILENCE UNTIL MATTER IS RESOLVED OR CLEARED BY SUPERVISER

  11. COLOUR CODES cont. CODE RED – fire, hazardous materials or rescue situation with life threat State Location ASAP and use METHANE SITREP ALL OFFICERS TO MAINTAIN RADIO SILENCE UNTIL GIVEN DIRECTION BY SUPERVISOR OR QFRS

  12. COLOUR CODES cont. CODE BLUE – cardiac arrest or major medical emergency exists Used in heavy radio traffic to distinguish between normal medical cases and Code Blue Cases which take priority

  13. COLOUR CODES cont. Code Yellow – venue is preparing to be evacuated due to particular incident Follow all commands from stadium/venue staff and assist where possible

  14. COLOUR CODES cont. Code Purple – A bomb threat exists and radio silence needs to be maintained until stated otherwise Follow all commands and requests from stadium/venue staff as well as QPS & QFRS

  15. MOVEMENTS WHILST ON DUTY While on duty at large events (eg: festivals, The Gabba, Skilled Stadium etc) all movements of staff, roving crews in particular, need to be advised to the Supervisor and/or Stadium Control via radio These include “out roving,” “responding,” “at scene” and “clear of all cases.”

SITREPS After calling “on-scene,” all officers should supply a SITREP (situation report) to the Supervisor and/or Radio Control within 2-3 minutes of being onscene with the patient Along with using the AMIST acronym, all officers should notify if ALS and/or ICP/MO backup is required as soon as practical to ensure no delays of specialist treatment
