  3. Mission Statement by Tenure Here is a draft mission statement for a faculty center. Please indicate how strongly you agree or disagree with this statement and the focus it would give to the center's activities. "The goal of the Center is to empower and enable the faculty to lead the College in accomplishing its mission by (1) nourishing and sustaining the intellectual lives of the faculty, and (2) creating synergies among faculty and leaders of other academic services." Programming Categories by Tenure As part of this mission, there are four broad categories of faculty development activities that a center could pursue: pedagogical support, research support, career development support, and faculty community-building/morale.
