  1. TUPAC’S BACK By: William Bigger

  2. Key points • Who is Tupac Shakur? • What’s the big deal about him? • Why do people think he’s still alive? • Conclusion

  3. Who is Tupac shakur? • Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971 in East Harlem, Manhattan New York City, New York and ‘died’ on September 13, 1996. • He became most famous for becoming a rapper and was better known as 2Pac during his career. Yet he was not always a rapper. He started out as a backup dancer for an alternative hip hop group called Digital Underground. • Many consider him to be one of the greatest rappers of all time. • As of in 2010, Tupac has sold over 75 million albums worldwide which makes him one of the best-selling music artists in the world.

  4. What is the big deal about tupac • On the night of September 7th, 1996, Mike Tyson boxed Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tupac decided to attend. • One thing about Tupac was that he was never in a gang, but he did associate with the Bloods because Death Row was his record label which had many people who were Bloods. • As Tupac was leaving the boxing match one of his friends spotted a Southside Crip named Orlando Anderson in the lobby of the MGM. Anderson and some other Crips had robbed a member of Death Row’s crew earlier that year so Shakur and his crew decided to go after him in the lobby. They assaulted him and it was captured on the hotel’s surveillance camera. • Tupac and his crew then left and headed to Club 662.

  5. Continued • Around 11pm they were stopped by bike police for playing their music too loud and not having license plates. Tupac was in Suge Knight’s black BMW. The plates were found in the trunk and they were released with no penalties. • About 10 minutes later they were at a stoplight and Tupac stuck his head out the window and invited two girls in the car next to them to meet them at the club. • Then about five minutes later, a white four-door Cadillac pulled up to the car’s right side, rolled one window down, and began shooting at Tupac. He was shot in the chest, pelvis, right hand, and right thigh. Knight was only grazed in the head by fragmentation. • Tupac was taken to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and passed away on the afternoon of Friday September 13, 1996. • Many believe that this was the end of it and are devastated by Tupac’s death. • However, many think that there is a little more to the story.

  6. The theory • Many people believe Tupac never actually died and is still alive. They believe he is hiding somewhere and will make his reappearance one day.

  7. What evidence is there that tupac is still alive? • This topic really made me curious so I got pretty deep into my research with it. • To begin with, Tupac never had a funeral. There was no type of burial service or viewing or anything; it was cancelled twice and never rescheduled. • Also, records say his body was cremated the day after his death. I have lost some family members and I know they waited at least a couple of days after the death to cremate the body so this just seems odd to me. • Tupac wore a bulletproof vest everywhere he went at all times, except on the particular day he was shot. Some think this could be part of his plot to make it seem like he really is dead. • Photographs of Tupac in the hospital were never released.

  8. More evidence • I personally looked at Tupac’s Coroner’s Report and a couple of things caught my eye. • On the report it says he has brown hair and weighed 215 lbs. As you can tell by this picture there is no way Tupac weighed 215 lbs. with him being only 5’ 9” tall. • Also, I took the Social Security number on the report and plugged it into a website where you are able to track people by their SSN. The number on the report is an active number in Florida.

  9. Continued • Before Tupac died he also went by the name of Makaveli, which is assumed to be in homage to Niccolo Machiavelli who was a 15th century Italian political philosopher. Machiavelli was known for the idea of faking one’s death to fool one’s enemies… • Some of Tupac’s music videos were released after his death. In two of these videos, he is seen wearing shoes that were not available until after the time of his death. • In many of Tupac’s interviews before his death he repeatedly told interviewers that he was tired of being in the limelight and just wanted to not worry about all of the fame anymore. • Many claim to have spotted Tupac and believe he’s in Cuba.

  11. conclusion • Some of the sources from which I obtained information have questionable credibility but others are legitimate such as Rolling Stone Magazine. It is hard to come to a definitive answer whether Tupac is really still alive or not but I think it is very possible that he had a plot to go into hiding and will reappear one day. I’m sure many disagree and think he’s laying in his grave but who knows, he could be walking the streets of Charlotte right now.
