  4. About the Faculty The Faculty of Philosophy was founded in 1954. With the Faculty of Agriculture, it is one of the oldest faculties of the University of Novi Sad. There are 330 full-time professors and teaching associates,with 95 employed as non-teaching staff.

  12. 2005 New law on higher education passed • 2006-2007 Students enrolled at all three levels of study at 18 bachelor level study groups which were previously adjusted to the new law and Bologna Declaration • 2008 Faculty of Philosophy got accreditation for all 42 study programmes at all three levels of study • • 18 bachelor study programmes • • 17 master study programmes • • 7 doctoral study programmes

  13. 1st December, Faculty Anniversary • On 1st December 2009 the Faculty celebrated its 55th anniversaryby organising the Fifth International Interdisciplinary Symposium Encounter of Cultures which brought together around 200 scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences for a day of intellectual debate, cultural experience andnetworking.

The Library The Central Library of the Faculty of Philosophy is the second-largest library in Vojvodina (after the Matica Srpska Library) Extensive collection: 216,365 scholarly monographs 3,169 journals (30,700 annual issues, 200,000 volumes) doctoral dissertations, master’s theses, etc. The Library consists of the central unit and 14 departmental sections

  18. Equipment Each departmental library is equipped with 1-2 computers All computers are linked to the local network Access to the Internet is free Users can access the databases of the Matica Srpska Library, the National Library of Serbia, and the Svetozar Markovic University Library

  25. Departmental Libraries There are 14 departmental libraries within the Faculty. A departmental library is an organizational unit of a department which holds specialized books and periodicals used by students, professors and associates.

Student Parliament • The Student Parliament is the Faculty body throughwhich students exercise their rights and advocate and safeguard their interests. • TheStudent Parliament is open to the public. • Members of the Student Parliament are elected once a year in accordance with the Rules of Procedureapproved by the Teaching and Scholarly Council of the Faculty. • Elected members serve for a one-year term. • President of the Student Parliament: Ivan Srdanovic
