  10. Assess the Site Dream big in the beginning! Think about more than a playground or playing field. Consider play, the larger environment surrounding a potential site, and your entire community.

  13. Think ABCD! • Asset-Based Community Development • (ABCD) is built upon: • A community’s past successes • The recognition of social capital as an asset • A participatory approach to development • Efforts to strengthen civil society

  14. Tap Into Your Community’s Assets • Every community has assets! • Assets can be grouped into three main categories: • Individuals • Associations • Institutions/Businesses

Planning Committee Co-Chair Responsibilities • Recruit team captains • Supervise, guide and support team captains • Keep team captains on track and on task • Facilitate communication among team captains • Lead committee and general interest meetings • Forecast potential problems and solutions • Recognize and reward committee members, • volunteers, and sponsors as needed
