  2. Contracts • Legal help should always be included when drawing up or negotiating a contract. • Length of contract is always a major issue. • Compensation for services should be specified in writing. • Negotiations can drag on in some cases. • It is best to communicate what the actor wants and let the lawyer handle negotiations.

  3. Public Appearances • A pleasant but reserved demeanor can go a long way to ensure public favor. • Even when not on the red carpet, an actor is always making a public appearance. • When on the red carpet, acknowledge the press in a polite manner. • Should fans ask for autographs, it is best to respond quietly and kindly.

  4. How to Handle Paparazzi • Always maintain your poise and continue walking. • Do not engage photographers for any reason. • Too much exposure this way can come across in a negative or fame hungry way. • Photographers open actors up to a world of problems. • Should photographers cause a public disturbance, do not hesitate to involve authorities.

  5. How to Deal with Bad Media Coverage • Many times negative news will come up about an actor’s career. • Regardless of whether the news is true, it can be handled in a few ways: • Take no action and let the news cycle out eventually. • Contact the reporter or editor for a retraction. • Issue a public response.
