  2. Editorial Definition: an article in a newspaper or other periodical presenting the opinion of the publisher. Sentence: We thought the same opinion in Thursday’s editorial.

  3. Hesitation Definition: a state of doubt or uncertainty. Sentence: His hesitation cost him the winning shot.

  4. Incredulous Definition: indicating or showing unbelief Sentence: He showed an incredulous smile.

  5. Nonchalant Definition: coolly unconcerned, indifferent, or unexcited. Sentence: You could tell he had a nonchalant attitude when he walked into the room.

  6. Rebellious Definition: defying or resisting some established authority, government, or tradition; insubordinate; inclined to rebel. Sentence: The town knew he was going to be rebellious, because of the new law they made.

  7. Reputation Definition: the estimation in which a person or thing is held, especially by the community or the public generally. Sentence: The little boy had already had a reputation on his first week of school.

  8. Rivalry Definition: the action, position, or relation of a rival or rivals; competition. Sentence: Alabama and Auburn have a rivalry game every year.

  9. Sarcasm Definition: a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark Sentence: The girl was using sarcasm, when she said she liked the boy.

  10. Sympathetic Definition: characterized by, proceeding from, exhibiting, or feeling sympathy. Sentence: The girl felt like she needed to be sympathetic when she saw a girl fall.

  11. Unfathomable Definition: excitement, or something that was unbelievable. Sentence: The new superhero in town was unfathomable
