  2. The Aqua Lung • The aqua lung has helped a lot of people. It is practically a tank on your back, a mask on your face and fins on your feet.

  3. What the aqua lung fixed? • The first scuba created had a big problem. The problem it had was that the air finished too quickly. The air finished quickly because it was an open circuit scuba. So what the aqua lung did is it didn’t let the air finish that quickly. It did that because it had a closed circuit.

  4. Jacques-Cousteau • Cousteau was born on 11 June 1910, in Saint-André-de-Cubzac, Gironde, France to Daniel and Elisabeth Cousteau. He had one brother, Pierre-Antoine. Cousteau completed his preparatory studies at the prestigious Collège Stanislas in Paris. In 1930, he entered the École Navale and graduated as a gunnery officer. After an automobile accident cut short his career in naval aviation, Cousteau indulged his interest in the sea. • In 1949, Cousteau left the French Navy. • In 1950, he founded the French Oceanographic Campaigns (FOC), and leased a ship called Calypso from Thomas Loel Guinness for a symbolic one franc a year. Cousteau refitted the Calypso as a mobile laboratory for field research and as his principal vessel for diving and filming. He also carried out underwater archaeological excavations in the Mediterranean, in particular at Grand-Congloué (1952) • Jacques-Yves Cousteau died on 25 June 1997 in Paris, aged 87. Despite persistent rumors, encouraged by some Islamic publications and websites, Cousteau did not convert to Islam, and when he died he was buried in a Roman Catholic Christian funeral.[14] He was buried in the family vault at Saint-André-de-Cubzac in France. An homage was paid to him by the city by the inauguration of a "rue du Commandant Cousteau", a street which runs out to his native house, where a commemorative plaque was affixed. • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Cousteau

  6. Story of the aqua lung • Jacques-Yves entered the naval academy in 1930, was graduated and became a gun officer. Then, while he was training to be a pilot, a serious car accident ended his flying career. So it was the ocean that took his soul away from flying. Emile Gagnan helped him. • he was inspired by the discoveries that preceded it, particularly that of Captain Yves Le Prier but the problem with Yves le prier’s invention is that it was an open circuit so the air finished really quickly so what Jacques did is make it a scuba apparatus so the air didn’t finish quickly

  7. How it works? • The way the aqua lung works is that there is a tank that is on your back, there is a mask on your face and flippers on your feet. So they take oxygen and some gases and pressurize it in to the tank. There is a mask connected to the tank which gives you air. So you suck in air then blow it out.

  8. What they did with the aqua lung to fix the aqua lung? • It solves the problem because it has a closed circuit so the air doesn't just flow out you control when you want air.

  9. What humans did with the problem before the the aqua lung? • Humans could not do any thing with the problem they just lives with it but in the year 1942 Jacques-Yves.

  10. How the invention helped human life? • The aqua lung helped the human life because it lets us go deep into the ocean.

  11. How did the aqua lung improve over the years? • It improved in style and in the product it self. The way it improve in style is that it is colorful now. The way it improved in the product is that they made a lot more air go into it and there are now two tanks

  12. What new challenges did the aqua lung make for humans? • It made a lot of challenges for humans like going deep into the water or to go into flooded caves.

  13. Timeline of the aqua lung • The aqua lung was created in 1942 by Jacques-Yves • They added in extra tank over the years • Then they added color to make it look better
