Process: • Create a non-objective relief design (relief is a type of sculpture in which form projects from a background) • Focus on line, shape, texture & pattern • Use the repousse method to burnish metal foil on both sides • Matte the artwork & continue the 3D design onto the 2D surface using colored pencil, pastel or markers • Adapted from a lesson that appeared in Arts & Activities magazine
