  4. Exampels on Scandinavian gemstones. Sweden:Garnets, Apatite, Smokeyquartz, Rockcrystal, Rosequartz, Amethyst, Tourmaline, Spinel, Epidote. Finland:Ruby, Sapphire, Garnets, Iolite, Amethyst, Diamonds, Spectrolite. Norway: Garnets, Ruby, Iolite, Rockcrystal, Spinel Greenland: Ruby.

  5. Iolite is extremelypleochroic

  6. Apatite is a very different material thaniolite. Softer, less stabile.
