  1. To view the completion status of the members of your station or district, start by logging into the HFD Staffing web site. Click on Reports.

  2. The best report for a station captain to use to see the status of members training is the “Training Hours By Class and Roster”

  3. After clicking the report, there are a few boxes to fill out. For the start and end dates, click on the little calendar box and select the date. I have been using 8-1-09 for all of my reports because that is the first date of using Staffing Training Entry. For and End Date, use the day after the current date. ie; if today is 8-31-09, use 9-1-09 as the end date. This allows the system to pick up results done on the day you run the report. Select the station, district and shift and pick a course from the drop down. To view an entire District, set the station to “Any”. To view the entire shift, select the shift and set the District and Station to “Any” Any course done on Moodle will be listed here. Only one class at a time can be viewed. Now click on View Report.

  4. Here are the selections for station 26-A . Now click on View Report

  5. Each member that has completed all four steps of the course in Moodle is showing credit here. If the member is showing a red zero, then they have not done the course or have not completed all four steps. The four steps are 1. Course material 2. Quiz 3. Feedback. This will become optional for the Fire CE courses next month. Still mandatory in EMS CE (State rule, not HFD) 4. View Certificate. The certificate does not have to be printed, just viewed. If it is not viewed then it is not generated. This is the final step to complete the course.

  6. All reports can be exported to an excel sheet for format adjustments or printing and /or saving. Click on “Select a Format”, then Export. Click “Open” in the dialogue box.

  7. Now the spreadsheet can be adjusted in whatever manner you want. Putting it into an Excel workbook is optional.

  8. To get back to the list of report choices, select HFD Staffing on the “bread crumb” trail and click on the report title.

  9. This is a report for District 26-A, all stations. Only stations 36 and 40 can be seen on this screen shot due to the screen size. Scroll up and down to see all or export the report to Excel as shown on the last report.

  10. Now lets look another report that is just a little different. This one will list all training taken by a member, the station or district. Click on Training Hours.

  11. This has the option of not listing a Course ID. By doing this, one will see all training for anyone. We have two boxes that are checked “Null” that you can uncheck by clicking them and change your report. This is helpful if you have someone transfer in and you want to see if they have completed a particular course or group of courses or their training history in general.

  12. On this report, we have put in a single payroll number viewed for the month of October. First we unchecked the “null” next to payroll and inserted a six digit number, then selected the start and end dates, then View Report. By leaving station, district and course ID set to any; we get all training recorded for this member. Training is listed in Date Order. This can be exported to Excel and then it can be sorted by Course ID, Course Name or Instructor Payroll. This is helpful if you run a long date range.

  13. This time we did the same Hours Taken, but changed our search selections. We selected start and end dates along with station 36 and A shift. We left payroll number null and district and course ID to any. Now we have a list of training for each member assigned to station 36 for the month of October as of 10-26-09. Showing is for the first member of the station. Scroll down to view the entire list. As before, it can be exported to excel and saved and/or sorted.

  14. Play with the reports. You can’t hurt them. Call if you need assistance. One key to accessing the reports page form Staffing. It is dependant upon the user that has logged onto the computer, not who is logging into staffing. ie, if a FF is logged on as the computer user and then the EO tries to access the reports, it will not work. It will work if the EO is logged on as the computer user and then logs onto Staffing. Always be secure and log off or lock the computer (control, alt, delete) when you are away from the computer.Sr. Captain Timothy Neal713-640-0324
