  2. Using “hacer” to express time • When wanting to state how long something has been going on or how long it has been since something occurred, use “hacer.” • Hace dos añosqueenseño en Tekamah. • Hacecuatroañosque me gradué de UNL.

  3. Using “hacer” for expressing time in the present tense. To say how long something has been going on, we use the following: Hace + the period of time + present tense of the verb. Hace quince añosqueyoconozco mi mejoramiga, Anne.

  4. Using “hacer” to talk about the past. (ago) To say how long it has been since something happened, use the following. Hace + period of time + preterite Hacetresañosquemovimos a Tekamah.

  5. Using “hacer” to talk about the past. To talk about how long it has been, we can also put the verb in front of “hacer.” Preterite + hace + period of time. Movimoshacetresaños.

  6. Asking questions with “hacer” When asking how long something has been going on or how long it has been since something happened, use the following two sentence structures. Cuántotiempo + hace + que + present tense O Cuántotiempo + hace + que + preterite
