  21. The preposition "by" has the idea of instrumentality - not that we are baptized "with the Spirit" • The Holy Spirit leads us by the instrument of the word to be baptized into Christ. (cf. 1 Peter 1:22-25) • This baptism, (the one New Testament baptism), is water baptism. (Acts 8:12; 2:38; 10:47,48)

A sign & empowerment - (Acts 1:8; 2:32,33) Manifested by tongues - (Acts 2:1-4; 10:44-46) No physical action required - (Acts 2:1-4; 10:44-46) No salvation in it - (Acts 10:44-46) Purpose fulfilled - (John 16:13; Heb.2:4)
