  2. What is Stock Market?  A stock market or equity market is a public entity for the trading of company shares at an agreed price. In simple words, it is the It is a place where shares of public listed companies are traded.

  3.  Types of Market  •  Normal Market : Order Traded in regular lot Size For demat shares, lot size is 1 share • Odd Lot Market : Used for limited physical Market Order not traded in regular lot Size but both price & quantity should tally with each other.

  4. Spot Market : Different settlement periods depends on normal orders Sell & Purchases takes place on same date. Auction Market : Initiated by exchange on behalf of members for settlement related reasons Reasons are shortage and bad deliveries Loss is recovered from members

  5. Stock Markets in India  There are a total of 21 stock exchanges in India, with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) being the biggest stock exchanges.

  6. Biggest Stock Exchanges in India Two of the biggest stock exchanges in India are : • NSE : The National Stock Exchange of India Limited is the leading stock exchange of India, located in Mumbai. The NSE was established in 1992 as the first electronic exchange in the country • BSE : The Bombay Stock Exchange is an Indian stock exchange located at Dalal Street, Mumbai. Established in 1875, the BSE is Asia's first stock exchange.
