Data • What grades are students currently working at • What are they expected to achieve in the summer exams • How do the current working grades and expected final outcomes compare with last years outcomes? What is the trend? • Progress against targets • How do we know that they will make the final grade. • How do we monitor and track student performance?

  3. Assessment • How do we know that teachers’ assessments are accurate? • Have we tracked how accurate teacher predictions have been against outcomes in the summer?

  4. Quality of Teaching and Learning • How do we know what is being delivered in lessons? • How do we manage the quality of delivery in HGS and across the consortium? • What actions have we taken when problems have been identified within lessons? • Know your departments – we were asked about which departments were underperforming

  5. Consortium • How do we check on students’ progress and follow up issues for students educated off site? • How do we check the quality of delivery?

  6. Retention rates • How many students had we lost this year? • How did that compare with the previous year? • What had we done to improve retention rates?

  7. Post 18 options • How do we prepare students and help them make choices about their future? • What support and guidance is given by the school – particularly for those not going to university?

  8. Year 11 Options • What advice do we give to students when they are looking at options? • How do we ensure that students select the right options?

  9. Advice • One person needs to absolutely know the data • Look at L3VA and Qualification Success Rate data (QSR) • Read the OfSTED subsidiary guidance for Sixth Form • Choose students carefully – they need to be able to speak positively about every aspect of their school experience
