  1. Salvation Acts 4:12 (NASB95) 12“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” RESCUE—DELIVERANCE (TO BE SAVED)

  2. God’s Plan for Salvation John 3:16 (NASB95) 16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

  3. Beginning of Man (Genesis 1,2) Evolution verses Word of God (Bible) Creation of Man Genesis 1:26–27 (NASB95) 26  Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 2:7 (NASB95) 7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

  4. Creation of Man Man is a threefold being (body, soul and human spirit) Genesis 2:7 (NASB95) 7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NASB95) 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  5. ADAM BEFORE THE FALL BODY MAN IMAGE OF GOD SOUL SPIRIT

  6. Fall of man—Why do we need salvation? One test A test of Adam’s volition, free will, choice Genesis 2:16–17 (NASB95) 16 The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” The penalty was spiritual death

  7. ADAM AFTER THE FALL BODY MAN IMAGE OF GOD SOUL

  8. The Temptation Genesis 3:1–5 (NASB95) The Fall of Man 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’ ” 4 The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! 5 ”For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

  9. The sin (volition, negative choice, wrong choice ) Eve was deceived 1 Timothy 2:14 (NASB95) 14  And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression (sinned). Adam sinned deliberately, on purpose

  10. Man’s solution for sinning Genesis 3:7 (NASB95) 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. Isaiah 64:6 (NASB95) 6 For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. Titus 3:5a (NASB95) 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness,

  11. Illustration of the Trinity FATHER IS GOD IS NOT IS NOT IS IS SON HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT

  12. God God’s Penalty for Sin (Spiritual Death) Spiritual death is Separation from God in Time Genesis 2:17 (NASB95) 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surelydie.” Romans 6:23a (NASB95) 23 For the wages of sin is death, 1 Corinthians 15:22a (NASB95) 22 For as in Adam all die, Ephesians 2:1 (NASB95) 1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,

  13. God God’s Penalty for Sin (Physical Death) Physical Death is The Result of Spiritual Death and is Separation of Body from Soul and Spirit Genesis 5:5 (NASB95) 5 So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died. Philippians 1:21 (NASB95) 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

  14. BODY Physical Death Body Separated From Soul and Spirit MAN IMAGE OF GOD SOUL SPIRIT

  15. God God’s Penalty for Sin (Second Death) The Second Death, is Confinement in the Lake of Fire for Eternity Matthew 25:41 (NASB95) 41 “Then He (Jesus) will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones (unbelievers), into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; Revelation 20:10-15 Revelation 21:8 (NASB95) 8 “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

  16. God God’s Penalty for Sin Physical Death Genesis 5:5 Result For Believers and Unbelievers Spiritual Death Genesis 2:17 Penalty for Sin Second Death Lake Of Fire Rev. 21:8 Result For Unbelievers

  17. God’s Promise of Salvation Genesis 3:15 (NASB95) 15 And I will put enmity (strife, hostility) Between you (Satan) and the woman (Eve), And between your (Satan’s) seed and her (Eve’s) seed (Jesus); He (Jesus) shall bruise you (Satan) on the head, And you (Satan) shall bruise him (Jesus) on the heel.” God’s Promise of Salvation Fulfilled Galatians 4:4 (NASB95) 4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son (Jesus), born of a woman, born under the Law, Matthew 1:21 (NASB95) 21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Romans 5:8 (NASB95) 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners (unbelievers), Christ died for us. Colossians 3:9 (NASB95) 9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,

  18. Results of Sin Sin Nature Inherited Psalm 51:5 (NASB95) 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity (sin nature), And in sin my mother conceived me. Romans 5:12 (NASB95) 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned— Romans 7:18 (NASB95) 18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. Colossians 3:9 (NASB95) 9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,

  19. The Sin Nature Inherited by the Human Race Sin Nature STA (Sinful Trend of Adam) OSN (Old Sin Nature) Romans 3:23 (NASB95) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

  20. Adam’s Sin Nature Inherited by the Human Race OSN STA Human Race (All Mankind) Adam Sin Nature

  21. Romans 5:12–19 (NASB95) 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned— 13 for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death (spiritual death) reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him (Jesus Christ) who was to come. 15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression (Sin) of the one (Adam) the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.

  22. Romans 5:16–19 (NASB95) 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. 17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. 18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

  23. Personal Sins Mark 7:20–23 (NASB95) 20 And He (Jesus) was saying, “That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. 21 “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, 22 deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. 23 “All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.” Galatians 5:19–21 (NASB95) 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

  24. God’s Remedy (Solution) for Sin 1Timothy 2:5 (NASB95) 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Romans 5:10a (NASB95) 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son (Jesus), 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NASB95) 21 He made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Ephesians 1:7 (NASB95) 7 In Him (Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses (sins), according to the riches of His grace

  25. Man’s Progeny (Children, Offspring, Descendants) The Birth of the First Children Genesis 4:1–2 (NASB95) 1 Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, “I have gotten a manchild (man, the Lord) with the help of the LORD.” 2 Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper (shepherd) of flocks, but Cain was a tiller (farmer) of the ground.

  26. Cain (man, the Lord) Cain thought by Eve To Be Savior Genesis 4:1b (NASB95) 1b and she said, “I have gotten a manchild (man, the Lord) with the help of the Lord.” Cain First Seed of Satan Genesis 3:15 (NASB95) 15 And I will put enmity Between you (Satan) and the woman, And between your (Satan’s) seed (unbelievers) and her seed (Believers in Christ); He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.” Cain an Unbeliever 1 John 3:12 (NASB95) 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one (Satan) and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.

  27. Abel (Called Nothingness, Vain) Genesis 4:2a (NASB95) 2a Again, she (Eve) gave birth to his (Cain’s) brother Abel. Genesis 4:2b (NASB95) 2b And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller (Farmer) of the ground. 1 John 3:12 (NASB95) 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one (Satan) and slew his brother Abel). And for what reason did he (Cain) slay him (Abel)? Because his (Cain’s) deeds were evil, and his brother’s (Abel’s) were righteous. Hebrews 11:4 (NASB95) 4 By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he (Abel) was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.

  28. The Offerings of Cain and Abel Genesis 4:3–5 (NASB95) 3 So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground. 4 Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions (Slain Lamb). And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering (Accepted); 5 but for Cain and for his offering (rejected) He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Abel’s Slain Lamb was Accepted by God (Hebrews 11:4) Cain’s Fruit of His Own Hands was Rejected by God (Hebrews 9:22)

  29. Cain’s Offering Abel’s Offering Fruit of Cain’s Hands By His Works Slain Lamb No Works Accepted by God Rejected by God Hebrews 11:4 (NASB95) 4 By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks. Hebrews 9:22 (NASB95) 22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Proverbs 14:12 (NASB95) 12There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

  30. Abel’s Offering 1. Believed what God said (Heb. 11:4) 2. Accepted God’s way of salvation, by the shed blood (1 Pet. 1:19) 3. No works (did not grow the sheep, Tit. 3:5) 4. Recognized own sinfulness and need of a substitute (Rom. 3:23) 5. Salvation (Acts 16:31) Cain’s Offering 1. Did not believe what God said (Jn. 3:36) 2. His own way; no shedding of blood, no forgiveness (Heb. 9:22) 3. His own works (Isa. 64:6) 4. Did not recognize sin or its penalty (Rom. 6:23a) 5. Religion (2 Tim. 3:5; Prov. 14:12)

  31. God’s Grace (2 Cor. 8:9) Another Opportunity for Cain to Accept God’s Way Genesis 4:6–7 (NASB95) 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 “If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.” 2 Peter 3:9 (NASB95) 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. God’s Grace Rejected by Cain Genesis 4:8 (NASB95) 8 Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. John 3:36 (NASB95) 36 “He who believes in the Son (Jesus) has eternal life; but he who does not obey (Believe) the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

  32. God’s Grace (2 Cor. 8:9) Cain Punished by God Genesis 4:9–16 (NASB95) 9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know (A Lie). Am I my brother’s keeper?” 10 He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground. 11 “Now you (Cain) are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 “When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.” 13 Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is too great to bear! 14 “Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” 15 So the LORD said to him, “Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” And the LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him. 16 Then Cain went out from the presence of theLORD, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

  33. God’s Grace for Mankind 2 Corinthians 8:9 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. • By the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (by his Choice). • He was rich (God the Son in Heaven with the Father). • For us He became poor (came to planet earth as the God-Man). Giving up the many privileges as God in Heaven and bore the sins of all mankind on the Cross. • Why, so that all mankind might become rich, have their sins forgiven and then spend an eternity in Heaven, if they believe in Jesus Christ.

  34. Grace Still Offered Genesis 4:15 15 So the LORD said to him (Cain), “Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” And the LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him. Romans 6:23 23 For the wages (payment) of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:8–9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
