Policy and Challenges ahead • SANKALP of Govt. of Rajasthan • Road Connectivity for Rural, Mining, Tourism and Religious • Maintenance of Roads, Buildings, ROBs with 5 years Defect liability • Road Safety • Quality Control • Financial Management • Leverage, NREGS, BOT, GoI, MoUs • Reorganization of PWD structure • Website and E-tendering

Development and maintenance of roads • Total length of road in State is 1,07,436 km. • Village connectivity 80% against 68% (All-India) • Road density 53.31 km per 100 sq.km against national average 102.92 km. • Expansion of road network is priority area for State. Proposed to upgrade connectivity of 3389 villages from gravel road to BT costing Rs.2000cr. • Conditions of State and district roads to be improved in 15106 kms. Only 3414 km length is 2 lane out of total 18484km. • Renewal in 20,000km rural road is proposed with estimated cost Rs.1258 cr.

  5. Total Requirement of Funds – GAP (2010-15) • State allotted Rs. 633.33 cr. for road sector and Rs.213.08 cr. for building sector on recommendation of 12 FC. Shall be fully utilised. • Requirement of funds during 2010-15 : Roads : (Rs. cr.) • Improvement of SHW/ MDR 1585.00 • Renewal of rural roads 583.00 • Village connectivity 2000.00 Buildings : • Maintenance of governmentbuildings 404.49 Grand Total 4572.49
