  16. Vignette Marta is watching a flagpole across the street. The flag is fluttering in the autumn breeze. With a sudden gust of wind, the flag waves furiously. As the wind settles, the flag returns to a flutter. The wind picks up and the flag waves furiously again. Playground leaves whirl around Marta’s feet. In the sandbox, Jabari shouts out, “Sand. It got in my eye. After Jabari’s eye is attended to, the teacher takes the opportunity to facilitate science learning.”
