  6. Responsibilities Protecting Wildlife Daily responsibilities for game wardens include patrolling their jurisdictions, which might include wetlands, woodlands, waterways and countryside's. Wardens oversee the safety of animals and often partake in aerial population counts and ground missions to tag and relocate animals as deemed necessary for safety and breeding. Interacting with People Game wardens interact directly with park visitors and guests in order to provide the utmost protection of their jurisdiction. In addition to hunting and fishing regulations, game wardens enforce boating laws, ensuring that boat operators are licensed and that vessels are properly registered and maintained. Game wardens will restrict travel and operation by boaters who appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Game wardens must have good communication skills to build cooperation and trust with the residents and officials in their jurisdiction. Wardens also assist in search and rescue missions when needed.
