The transparency instrument that provides information about the academic degree and the qualification the student earned (learning outcomes, credits,..) where he/she obtained the qualifications (institution) higher education system of the respective country Diploma Supplement (1) Conditions for use: Common European template (UNESCO/CEPES/EC) Handed out to all students automatically Free of charge In a widely spoken European language

  3. Adapted to involve all important information about the qualification: level, LOs, ECTS credits,…. Agreed European (CoE/UNESCO/EU) format Preamble Information identifying the holder of the qualification Information identifying the qualification Information on the level of the qualification (level of qualification; official length of study; admission requirements; after the self certification (referencing) process the level of QF-EHEA (EQF) will be added Information on the content and the results gained (incl. ECTS credits, Diploma thesis + State examination and the grades) Information on function of the qualification (access to further studies; professional status conferred) Additional information Certification of the supplement Information about national higher education system Diploma Supplement (2)

Agreed with HEIs A working group established (representatives of HEIs, IT specialists, representatives of the Ministry, ENIC/NARIC Centre): The CoE/UNESCO/EU format accepted Bilingual (Czech and English) Agreed format (incl. security elements on the form) Necessary adaptation of the information system suggested – sharing good practices among institutions Implementation Support scheme for higher education institutions to help with financial costs (development of the document, adaptation of information system, feeding the necessary database,…) Well accepted by vast majority of institutions Steps to implementation in the Czech Republic (1)

Steps to implementation in the Czech Republic (2) After being agreed with institutions, after being accepted it became part of legislation It is issued as a document certifying completion of a degree programme together with the Diploma (it is the supplement, not valid as a document on completing studies on its own) at Bachelor or Master or Doctoral level The law stipulates that there is a compulsory document and therefore it has to be isseued to all graduates Automatically Free of charge

Important ConsequenceIf referencing of the Czech HE system is completed successfully (expected in December 2012) It is suggested to extent the information in part 3.1. just adding the level of EQF Higher Education/Vysokoškolské vzdělání, Bachelor's studies/Bakalářské studium, level of the European Qualification Framework for Lifelong Learninh - 6/ úroveň Evropského rámce kvalifikací pro celoživotní vzdělávání - 6
