  3. Introduction • Microsoft Office is a great program to use and to have on your computer system. • Microsoft Office allows you to have power and flexibility to store a variety of information, create consistent files, and share data. • Microsoft Office also is used by 77% of all Mac users, and about 95% of other computer brands. • I will show you a few great tips about Microsoft Office and how you can better your skills and use Microsoft Office to its full potential.

  4. Microsoft WORD

  5. Microsoft Word • Word is a computer program you use to enter, edit and format text. • The files created in Word are called documents, nothing you haven’t heard before I’m sure. • I prefer Word because of its versatility and simplicity. Templates are one of the many advantages to having Word. Just like our assignment for the Employee Search or writing a cover letter in general, Word has many templates for any occasion to help you start what you need.

  6. Word continued… Examples of Templates Business Cards… • Agenda’s, • Contracts, • Calendars, • Business cards, • Inventory and Invoices, • Memos, • Plans and proposals • Many more!

  7. Learning Tool for Word….. • Open up Word • Look at the templates. (Click on NEW document and then click on template) • Find the business card template, and create one for your future job used in the Employee Search Project or your job now. • Final step is to upload it into the forum for Melissa’s Presentation.

  8. PowerPoint

  9. PowerPoint • PowerPoint is used to create presentations for a group setting, like this one! • All of you throughout your presentation weeks have used PowerPoint, and you know how well it works by your presentations you’ve created. • You can add charts, text, pictures, sound, movies, etc. Exactly why I am using it now!

  10. PowerPoint Continued… With PowerPoint you can create anything you need for group presentations and meetings, allowing you to show your group visually what you are presenting. No Learning Tool needed seeing how almost everyone did their presentations with PowerPoint!

  11. Excel and Access

  12. Excel and Access Programs • Both of these programs can go hand and hand. • Each provide you to enter, maintain, calculate, and analyze numerical data. • These programs allow you access to more tools for recording and formatting numbers and also allows you to perform calculations. • Great for group expenses, inventory and much more.

  13. Excel • Excel has great features that will let you visualize data in charts, pie graphs, bar graphs, area graphs, and much more. • All these tools make it easier for group settings. Whoever you are presenting to can visualize the data, and make it more readable.

  14. Excel By adding data into Excel you can turn it into a bar graph…..next page.

  15. Excel With all the data entered into Excel, you can them visualize them by choosing an option at the top to “insert” a specific chart.

  16. Excel Learning Tool • Learning Tool for Excel, please open up Excel and make a simple chart, any numbers you want. • Customize it to what you like and upload it to the forum. I will have separate forums for each Microsoft Office Program.

  17. Access • Access allows you to use data in different ways. • There is a business section where you can create employee time cards, business account ledgers, sales pipelines, and more. Perfect for the work place. • These are just a few examples of how well Microsoft Office can help!

  18. Access… Above is a screen shot of the main menu, look at all the choices you have to work with for a group setting or team.

  19. Event List from Access… Access gives you many options, I have created an Event List above. You can add them and edit them as you go.

  20. Learning Tool • Learning Tool for Access, is just to open it up and take a look at some of the great tools it has and familiarize yourself with it! • It can really come in handy! • Post a comment or question in the forum about what you think about Access.

  21. Outlook

  22. Outlook • Outlook is a great factor in Microsoft Office. • It is able to plan your schedule, email co-workers or outside people, arrange meetings, organize contacts, create a to-do lists, and jot down notes. • Print schedules, task lists, phone directories, and other documents.

  23. Summary • As you can see, Microsoft Office is 100% the perfect program for your business or group/team settings. • As we finish up here, please take a look at my video in Speech Studio. It will summarize what we have discussed, hoping you understand how much of Microsoft Office you can actually use for everyday tasks. • Whether it be Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access, or Outlook, each program has great tools, templates, charts, organization skills, reminders and much more. Just take the time to familiarize yourself with the program and good things will happen. • Microsoft office is the tool to success.
